Certainly a memorable and surprising read which not only highlighted the oddities of Derren Brown but human nature in general.

I have the audiobook read by derren and I was wondering if there are any embedded commands in it: That said, there are some insightful and though provoking ideas in here. Oc uses a card trick he performed in a restaurant as a sub-story throughout the whole book, browm although cleverly executed, the event itself doesn’t quite feel interesting enough to describe in so much detail.

I found his vivid descriptions of childhood memories particularly good – maybe because we are approximately the same age and I could relate a lot to what he said. After reading this book, I get such a sense of understanding – not just of what kind of person Derren Brown is, but also of his joy of life which is what I usually feel whenever I see one of Derren’s more inspiring television performances. It was not always the case. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, made even more intersting by the fact that it is read by the author.

To practise anything other than kindness towards them, to treat them in any way save generously, is to quietly deny their humanity. Did it make you laugh or cry? To anyone who admires derren’s work, this book is incredible.
